H E A D C A N N O N

:flagus:

Steve still can't get over his old 40's ways, its just who he is. Hes polite, but more mature than he used to be. Because before Steve used to be able to get cocky, he could get full of himself and be a hot shot. Though he usually was modest most of the time and a complete gentleman with the women, he still was a kid. But after losing Bucky, his best friend- his childhood friend who had been there through both his parents deaths he found himself darkening some.

Only enough to be more reserved with his emotions, to stay on task and to be less out going. He found the true pain needed to be a hero, not to just be a martyr but to be a persuasive leader who can do what it takes to win the war. Hes a solider who knows which orders to follow and which orders aren't right. Because when you see your best friend die for a cause, to die helping you with this cause, you know you can't let him die in vain. You can't disgrace him. Hes your best friend, he deserves to be able to smile down upon you from wherever he is.

Our patriot is also a virgin yes, he will wait until he finds the 'right partner', but he felt Peggy was the right partner. He believes in that 'once in a lifetime love'. Its also in his set of morals, no "fondue" before marriage. That and he was pretty shielded from that typical stuff, his mother never really having that talk with him except that he should always wait until he finds that lucky lady that just made Steve feel all warm and fuzzy. Though, strangely Sara Rogers didn't phrase it like that.

She had told him "When you find that one special partner you can do all sorts of things together. Share the good and the bad, have great experiences and not so great experiences...just you wait you'll find someone who fits you just right Stevie." Sara was surprisingly exceptional to something that you would be put in prison for, she didn't march for homosexuals or anything of the sort but when it came to her Stevie she could care less who it was and that he was happy.

Sadly though, still mourning over the loss of his whole generation, the cold splash of water to his face of this new time, being placed in a time that is so different than his while trying to adapt and being the leader of a team such as the Avengers, love and sexual desires are at the very bottom of his list. Truly, his heart still set on Peggy no matter how hopeless it may seem. He more works on trying to get used and learn more about this new time age, and to grow. Though, hes still not the friendliest, he does what he does to be the best solider/super hero he can be. But thats him as Captain America, Steve Rogers being a nobody again is pretty straight-forward with people and very friendly.

Added Stuff!

Steve doesn't liked to be called Steven. Ever. Its just a annoyance to him, he may explain later on, but only if he trusts you. Because there are a few reasons that some might not guess as to why he dislikes being called his full name so much. Aside from that, other bothersome nicknames like Capsicle, Stevie, and whatever Tony can come up with. The reason also behind Stevie is because that was what his mother called him and it just stirs up some old feelings inside him. He also dislikes any comments made about his suit- though he can't say he  would mind being called "The Star Spangled Man with a Plan" again.

He also has nightmares of the war, while he truly despises killing, he will do so if its for his country. Killing without purpose is a truly dishonorable thing. Steve lives for his honor, his freedom, and his country. Though after Bucky had died on their last mission together, he did go a bit overboard and lost his head for a bit but he still regrets the people he killed. They may have been bad people but really, since hes a man strong of faith of the Lord up in the heavens, he feels hes committed more sins than he can count. He also prays before each meal. And back to the dreams, after these dreams he will usually wake up in the middle of the night, checking to see the date or time. Either a calender most likely or the clock hanging in his room. Because he does fear losing everything again, after hes finally rebuilt it all. A man can only take so much after all.

Huuuuge Head Cannon Right Here!

Steve was all the glory of the 40s, that was where he fit in best. After so many years of being that one scrawny punk from Brooklyn who could never walk away from a fight, that kid who no one even threw a second glance at- look at where he was now. He was doing what his father died for- protecting this land, from sea to shinning sea. He was a man ready to defend his country in war. Willing to die for it and its people. Because he believed in America, he believed in what his four fathers had believed America to be. A place where all could be equal, where people could be different. He knew, he knew they weren't there yet but they would be soon! They were on the right track, just had to keep going!

As a soldier, he knows when to follow orders and when to go rogue. Steve keeps a calm level head when faced with a problem, always willing to do whats needed when the time calls for it. Because if he freaks out or looses his cool on a mission, what does that tell the people hes leading? Steve has the guts to take risks and stick his neck out for people that would usually be gunned down or stepped on by others- but not him. He was once that under dog. He knows what its like. Hes willing to give second chances and to face the consequences that follows because hes a man.

When he had to put that plane in the water- he truly thought he was going to die. He thought it was all over. But he'd die a hero. He would die leaving the women he was crazy about in tears, he hated that. But he loved her and he died loving her and knowing she felt the same. She was the one to hold his heart as he dived into that freezing cold water.

It was cold. Very cold. So cold Steve had frozen. But as he was frozen and thawed out, upon finding everyone he knew was dead. That shook him. It shook him to his core. He wasn't a little guy trapped in a big guys body, he was a guy from the 40s now in the 2000s, it was hard to adjust. Because now he wasn't dead. Now he was somewhere else- he was in the U.S still but... where did this new country leave him? All the history he'd missed. All the things he'd missed. He was supposed to be dead, not in the year twenty something.

He still has trouble with technology, and he doesn't always like the devices but hes a fast learner. But still, hes like a old man learning to use a computer for the very first time in his life, and boy is it complicated! But thankfully S.H.I.E.L.D had given him a apartment that was a replica of a 40's style apartment. No T.V. a radio yes, the wall paper and the windows all old school. Or at least to everyone else. He does what he has to though, and is usually serious because he feels weak and so useless at times because of how different the world is. Because its normal to know how to use a computer. To have more than 500 channels on a television set and to have those hand held devices that always eluded the blonde. This was easy and simple for all.

He also feels so lonely at times, but will never admit to it. Steve never would let anyone catch on to how lonely it is to know hes never going to see all those familiar faces he grew up with, worked along side of, to never be normal again. Well, he knew that from when he took on the Super Soldier project, but now? Now this was ridiculous. A man from the forties who should be in his nineties is still just in his twenty year old body in this ..this new era. He often feels more alone because of how hes so different, and overwhelmed by all this. Because he almost feels like the world wont need him, and he has this huge fear he keeps bottled up. Who could help him anyway with this type of fear? No one. Because this fear is too great for anyone to help him with.

The fear that... he might be

outdated.

Thats his worst fear, because being Captain America is all he has left. How would you feel if you were basically made for a certain purpose- if you had one thing you've wanted to do all your life- and right there you thought you were doing it. He was saving his country, fighting along side his fellow solider and

BAM

one false move and hes done. Hes in a whole new era and oh- whats this? The war is over? The war you were made for. The war that made you a somebody? Don't get him wrong- he was glad no more innocent blood or any blood would be spilled- but what was he to do now? Who was he?

Family? Nope parents died when he was young. Friends? Yeah the retirement home or six feet under. Love ? Oh. Oh right. Shes what...in her nineties? The first woman to ever look your way, and shes gone. At least any chance with her is, any chance you had of loving her. You love her but can't have her. Great.

Everything's changed- everything is so advanced and here you are, not able to do anything. You feel like your on a whole other world- but no this is your world. This is the same country, just different. Everything and everyone..is different. What happened? Morals are so loose, such revealing clothing and slang. What? Every other word... and the words you hear are so offensive yet thrown around so casually. Whats happened?

Your alone and outdated and have nowhere to turn and nowhere to run.

But in truth meeting the Avengers he did find some comfort..even as to go as far as some friends he could trust with his life.

Each one of them, different from the last. Skeptical and planning to distance himself from them, he had been forced to trust these strangers. Hes glad he did because each of them in their own way have gone through something. He doesn't feel as alone. Being a part of a team..its different. Hes still the leader and hes just fine with that, because at least now he wont be the only one with such powers it scares him. Hes not the only one being thrown into the ring with a unknown enemy. And he really does feel maybe...he could make some friends here. Its still a bit frightening to think of it but still. Its worth a shot.
